Leadership and Self-Deception in Life

This 2-day course is devoted to exploring the concrete application of Arbinger's material to issues commonly faced by individuals in their lives - issues relating to improving relationships, for example, as well as to increasing success and productivity, decreasing stress, discovering greater personal peace and fulfillment, reducing conflict, and increasing personal growth (a companion 2-day course, Leadership and Self-Deception in the Family, explores the application of Arbinger's material to family life).

On Day 1, participants will experience Arbinger's renowned program, The Choice Seminar, which explores Arbinger's foundational material - including the problem of self-deception and its solution. (The Choice is the Phase 1 training program Arbinger uses in all of its work with individuals and organizations in a broad range of areas - whether in families, or related to our work with corporations, schools, treatment programs, governmental agencies, humanitarian concerns, law enforcement and corrections agencies, helping professionals, and so on).

Day 2 is then devoted to Arbinger's new program for individual growth, The Choice in Personal Growth and Well Being. (Other Phase 2 programs in other contexts include The Choice at Work, The Choice in Families, The Choice in Intervention, The Choice in Teaching and Education, The Choice in Network Marketing, and The Choice in Caregiving.) Arbinger's work shows how many commonly held assumptions about personal growth and self-mastery are deeply mistaken. Common strategies for improving personal performance, personal happiness, and personal growth are often doomed from the start by a failed underlying philosophy. This program will help participants to rethink the common assumptions that hold people back from real growth, and to give them specific, concrete ideas and plans for making the practical improvements in their lives that matter most to them.

This course is open to the general public. It is also a prerequisite course for personal coaches who want to receive specialized coaching training in the Arbinger method. (The Leadership and Self-Deception in Life and Leadership and Self-Deception in the Family courses are recommended for coaching clients as well.)
