Day 1: The Choice at Work

Day 1 covers the following key Arbinger concepts:
Box Symptoms at Work
  • How to identify signs of the box at work
Working Out Of The Box: An Introduction
  • Introduction to the Responsive Way of working, and the four key Responsibility Zones in work:
Customer Zone, Co-Worker Zone, Employee Zone, Manager Zone.
  • How to focus in each zone to sustain the Responsive Way, minimize self-deception and its consequences and stay out of the box.
Working Out Of The Box: A Plan
  • Beginning to practice the methodologies and strategies that keep us out of the box in the four Responsibility Zones in work.
Solving Workplace Collusions
  • How to solve workplace "collusions" (i.e. conflicts) in a Responsive Way. Participants work together to solve a problem currently facing the group, or that members are complicit in creating. The way they solve it will become a model for solving problems together in the future.
Day 2: The Choice at Work - The Choice in Organizational Leadership
In The Choice, participants learned a fundamental principle: I honor others by seeing them as people.

In The Choice at Work, they learned another: I honor people at work by helping them and the organization achieve results.

We believe that everyone who works, no matter the job, faces a constant choice: Will I help others and the organization achieve results... or won't I?

See WOW. Anyone who answers ‘yes' to that question is able to work and lead in an out-of-the-box way. We call that WOWing.

Deciding whether or not to WOW in all directions by helping others get results... is the fundamental choice that determines the quality of our work lives.

See clear. See results. In The Choice in Organizational Leadership, participants learn this principle: I honor the people who report to me by helping them grown in their ability to achieve results in all directions.

We believe all leaders also face a constant choice: Will I help my team members grow... or won't I? Will I be a WOW leader? Help the WOWing way of working flourish among them... or won't I? Virtually everything about the quality and success of a leader rests on this fundamental choice.
Leading to Level 5
Arbinger recognizes a key characteristic that sets the best organizations apart. They don't rely on one, dominant personality. Instead, they produce multiple leaders. And all of them repeat and renew the growing process for others. We call this operating at Level 5.

The Choice in Organizational Leadership helps organizations on the way to Level 5 vitality and abundance by helping them develop WOW leaders - who are effective, powerful, and fun.

Train-the-Trainer Options
We can train employees of client organizations to facilitate our training programs, and can prepare the same or different people to provide Arbinger Coaching and Arbinger Consulting services.
